Okey
How to play Okey
Okey is Turkey's beloved tile game — a fast, sociable rummy played on numbered tiles instead of cards, a fixture of tea houses and family tables. It is a close cousin of Rummikub: you draw and discard, quietly building your hand into runs and sets until you can go out. Here you play against three bots — or take on real people online.

Choose Play online to be matched with real opponents for a live game, or share a private invite link so your own group can play together. It all runs in the browser — no account, no app — and the server keeps everyone's tiles, draws and discards in sync for all four players.
The tiles
There are 106 tiles: the numbers 1 to 13 in four colours (red, yellow, black, blue), two of each, plus two false jokers. After the deal one tile is turned face up as the indicator. The okey (the joker) is the tile one higher than the indicator in the same colour — so if the indicator is a red 5, every red 6 is an okey. The two false jokers stand in for that okey too, giving you four wild tiles in all.
The deal
The starting player is dealt 15 tiles, everyone else 14. Play passes around the table.
Your turn
- Draw one tile — either the face-down stock, or the tile your left-hand neighbour just discarded.
- Discard one tile from your rack to finish your turn.
Going out
You win the moment the 14 tiles you keep all belong to valid melds, and you throw away the 15th:
- A run (seri) — three or more consecutive numbers in one colour, such as blue 4-5-6.
- A set (küme) — three or four tiles of the same number in different colours, such as red 7, black 7, blue 7.
Jokers can stand in for any tile in either kind of meld. Finishing by discarding the okey itself — "okey ile bitme" — is worth double.
Scoring
A normal win scores 2 points; going out on the okey scores 4. The first player to reach 10 points wins the match. If the stock runs out before anyone goes out, the hand is washed out and re-dealt.
Strategy
Hold your jokers — they are precious, and worth keeping flexible until the very end. Watch what your left-hand neighbour throws: a single tile can complete a run you have been nursing. Keep your tiles loosely sorted so you can see the shapes forming, and don't be afraid to break one near-meld to chase a better one. Tap a tile to discard it; the tile you just drew is highlighted. N starts a new game.
